Making an appointment

calendarConsultations at the Surgery are by appointment only (both booking up to 4 weeks in advance with some appointments being available for on the day booking.  You can make an appointment by phoning or calling in or online through our Website.(you will need to come into the Surgery to be authorised to use this facility and this may not be available to everyone).  Please ask Reception for more details.  You are welcome to see any Doctor of your choice, but where possible we would encourage you to see the same Doctor as we believe this leads to better continuity and patient care.

An appointment is for one person only - if you need more than one member of your family to be seen, please tell the Receptionist to book an additional appointment.

Some patients prefer to book appointments in advance, often with their usual Doctor.  Others prefer to be seen on the same day they phone in, often with no preference of Doctor.  The NHS requires us to enable patients to have access to a Doctor within 48 hours.  We have tried to the best of our ability to design an appointment system which balances all these needs, though as you can imagine, this can often be difficult.

Cancelling Appointments

If you cannot keep your appointment please let us know as far in advance as possible so that we can offer the appointment to another patient.  If you have been approved for Online functionality you are also able to cancel appointments by this method.  Patients who do not cancel their appointments in time to be able to offer to other Patients and their appointments become classified as " DID NOT ATTEND" appointments may have their Online facility withdrawn.  Patients who "miss" two appointments are given a "DNA" warning and patients who still "miss" appointments may be asked to register with another Practice.
